Independence Day is celebrated all over India by the people of India each year in on 15th of August as a National Holiday for commemorating the sovereignty of India from the Kingdom of Great Britain on 15th of August in 1947. On this special day, Indians pay extremely respect to the great leaders in the guidance or leadership of whom India became free forever.

People of India on this day, celebrate in various ways such as listening patriotic songs, buying tricolour Flag, participating in special contests, watching movies based on freedom fighters, bonding with family and friends, taking part in articles organized by the print, broadcast, and online media to promoting the awareness about Independence day.

After the independence of India on 17th of August 1947, Jawaharlal Nehru became our first Prime Minister who at Lahore Gate of Red Fort in Delhi raised the Indian Flag and gave a speech. This happening is followed by the other following Prime Ministers of India where flag hoisting ceremonies, March past, parades, salute by 21 guns and other cultural events are organized. Many other people celebrate this day by raising national flag on their homes, clothes, or vehicles. On 15th August, 1947 in the midnight Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru declared the independence of India by reading out his started with ‘Tryst with destiny’.

He said that after extensive years of slavery, it is the time when we will use our pledge with the end of our not well fortune. In every states of the country Independence Day celebration takes place where Chief Minister as well as Governor of the states became main guests. Many people in India get prepared in the early morning and eagerly wait for the speech of the Indian Prime Minister at Television. On 15th of August Indians get inspired with the history independence of India and do some social activities also as per their desire to celebrate the happiness. 

Therefore, India is a country where millions of citizens live together whether they belong to diverse religions, traditions or cultures and celebrate this special event with great delight. So, on this day, being an Indian we must feel proud and must take a pledge to keep ourselves faithful and patriotic in order to save our homeland from any type of assault or humiliation by other nations.

A very warm good morning to all guests and my dear friends gathered here.  Today we all are here for celebrating this fortunate occasion of Independence Day on 15th of August. Every year, we celebrate this day with lots of passion and joy as our country got sovereignty on this day in 1947 from British rule. As we are in 2019, so we are celebrating the 73rd number of Independence Day. It is a most significant and great day for all Indians. For many years, people of India had suffered nasty behavior of Britishers.

Today we have freedom in approximately all fields like education, transportation, sports, business and many more just because of a huge struggle of our freedom fighters. Prior to the year 1947, people were not so free even they were constrained to have rights on their own mind and body.

They were slave of Britishers and forced to go after all the strict orders of them. But today we are free to do many things freely in India; all credit goes to the great Indian leaders who struggled very hard for numerous years to get freedom against the rule of Britishers. Independence Day is of great importance to all Indian citizens as it gives us the reason to remember all those freedom fighters who had give up their lives just for giving us a peaceful life in India.

Before independence, people were not allowed to eat healthy food, get an education and live a normal and free life like us. We should be thankful to those events liable for the freedom in India. Indians were treated more poorly than slaves by the Britishers just to accomplish their worthless orders. Some of the great freedom fighters of India are Mahatma Gandhiji, Netaji Subhash Chandra, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Khudi Ram Bose, Chandra Sekhar Azad, Lala Lajpat Ray, Bhagat Singh and many more. They were well-known patriots who struggled hard for the sovereignty of India till the end of their life. We cannot even think that awful moment struggled with our freedom fighters. Now, after so many years of independence,

India is on the correct track of development. Gandhiji was a great leader of India who taught us about an efficient way of freedom like satyagraha methods and ahimsa. Gandhi dreamed of a sovereign India with the peacefulness. Today our nation is a well established self-governing country all over the globe. So, as a citizen of India it is our responsibility to lead out nation forward and make it the best country in all over the world. 

So, we are so lucky that our great leaders and freedom fighters have given us Freedom from British. In the field of technology, sports, education and finance India is developing very fast. People of India are going ahead by enthusiastically participating in the sports such as Commonwealth Games, Asian Games and Olympics. Moreover, we are the largest democracy in the world and have absolute freedom but we must not understand ourselves free of duties towards India. Thank You!
